View Full Version : Weekly question: How do you store ribbon (if you use it)
Mine is not very neat I'm afraid - I have six jars, and they are colour coded according to the most dominant colour. I tend to only buy multi-coloured ribbon if I have something specific in mine so I don't have much of that.
My ribbon is loose in the jars. Most of the time they're not so wrinkly I need to iron them. If occasionally I do, that's OK, but I am not one for winding stuff up because often I will 'try' different ribbons on a layout before deciding on one.
Do you wind yours up? Use ribbon holders? Cardboard? Thread bobbins? Or do you use jars, like me? Or something else? I'd love to hear what you do!

I used the MDF Kasier box and wound the ribbon around the ribbon holders (You know those long flat ones) I have one colour on each holder. The rest of my ribbon is in a container

I store my ribbon in a big box. Each colour is in its own ziplock bag. I also have bags of fibre, fabric, felt and threads stored in the box so it's a bit of a treasure trove. Each length of ribbon is wound up separately before being added to the bags. I tend to classify the multi-coloured bits by dominant colour but I also have a bag of ribbon that just doesn't go with the others.
Moi - it's never occurred to me to iron ribbon - It's a good thing I'm a bit obsessive in my ribbon storage cos I just wouldn't use it if it was too crumpled lol - irons and I do not mix!;)
Haha, irons and I don't usually either, but I make an exception for scrapbooking. ;)

I have my ribbon in zip lock bags in a box. I tend to sort it by colour, sometimes its very out of control and I need to go through and sort it all out.. I also have a little square clear box that I stuff bits of ribbon in - the kind I use quite a bit. My ribbon doesn't get too rumpled...:)

I have one plastic container full of rolled up ribbons, you know the kind with little square sections. Then, I have another plastic container for the ribbons that come on the reel.

My ribbon scraps are in a small plastic box and my 'good' ribbons (read expensive) are in one box and my cheapie ribbons are in another plastic box.
