Weekly question: Do you keep copies?

I just wondered whether everyone else photographed all their layouts and kept electronic copies of them?

I upload mine to a blog, so that if anything happens, I at least have electronic copies. I am aware though that at times I haven't photographed and uploaded hidden journalling etc.

I also plan on giving some CDs of photos to a friend to keep at their place. I back up with an external disk drive but it's important to keep copies 'off site' too.

What do you do? Do you keep copies? If so, where? (If not, get to it! LOL)

I have copies on my computer and also some of my layouts for challenges etc are on my blog
I have a external hard drive but have been very slack in using it
I am currently scaning hundreds of old family photos from 40 odd years ago until recent and it is such a boring job :rolleyes: but they have brought back some fun meriores must remember to place them on to the external hard drive !!!

No I don't tend to take photos of my layouts and save them. Guess that is something I should consider doing though.

No i dont make copies but it is a good idea. My plan is to put all the photos i use in an olbum onto a cd so you can always find the pic to make a copy if someone sees it and wants one or if the pics start to fade etc.

I do when I remember, but I really struggle getting good photo's of my paper layouts, unless they're the smaller size and I can just scan them, I've never got the hang of stitching photo's together, mind I haven't tried for a while, so maybe now am getting a bit better with PhotoShop that is something I could try out again!

I photograph my LOs if I'm posting them on a site or my blog but I don't put all of my LOs 'out there' so I guess I have quite a few that I don't have electronic copies of but I'm not sure that it bothers me - I find the electronic versions are poor cousins of the real deal and that if anything happened to my LOs I wouldn't be consoled by jpgs of them ... that said I'm open to hearing why I should have copies.

Come on Moi - convince me why I need electronic copies please :)

One reason - because of the journalling! :) That would be something that would console me personally - though I have to admit I don't think I'd ever get over losing all my LOs either.

Ah, you got me there - I didn't consider that - akin to seeing your diary go up in flames - right I'm now on a mission to work out which LOs I'm missing and get some photos of them :)
