Moira Byrne

About Me: I am a wife to Matthew and mother to our four children (three girls and a boy) aged between 4 and 10. We live in Canberra and I work part-time.

I couldn’t live without music – I love all kinds. I am fascinated with words and take pleasure in a good story.  I also enjoy reading and discussing politics and theology. I like to bake and make my own household goods, for environmental and ‘homemade’ reasons. I long to be tidier, thinner and more driven. I love art and I love to create.

I have been scrapbooking for around 5 years – though I have ‘scrapbooked’ in some form for a long time, as I presented photos in albums along with memorabilia and some notes.  It wasn’t until I was introduced to a particular party plan in 2003 that I realised there were products specifically manufactured for this purpose! When I discovered the wider world of scrapbooking and online communities in the years that followed,I became hooked!  Now, I scrap almostevery day – it’s my way to wind down.

My Scrapping Life: I mostly create layouts and cards, and I occasionally make off the page projects - but I like my OTP projects to be functional as well as pretty.  Two of my projects have been published as projects in Australian scrapbooking magazines.

My Advent calendar was published in Scrapbooking Memories Vol 8. No. 5 (2006), and a wall hanging was published in Scrapbook Creations No. 43 (2007).

My Scrapping Style, Favourite Products and Techniques:  My layouts are generally designed to be uncluttered, but include homey, crafty touches as well. Buttons are a regular feature!

My favourite product is probably patterned paper, because it is so versatile … it can be used as background, for matting, as ribbon strips, for embellishing, for titles and more!  Still, I love using different products on my projects, and I am a firm believer that ANY scrapbooking product can be used effectively.

My favourite techniques are stitching (machine or by hand) and painting, though I try anything and everything! I like to experiment – I wish all my experiments were as successful as I wish them to be!

My Inspiration:  I find inspiration in photographs – in the people or the scenes the photographs are capturing. My scrapbooking focus is on telling stories and celebrating relationships.

Consequently my designs tend to be reasonably simple, and I am inspired by lines and geometric shapes I encounter, and colour combinations I see in my life. I often experiment by teaming products together.

My Scrapbooking Philosophy:  To me, scrapbooking isn’t just about putting photos on pretty paper, but recording life – the special moments, the personalities, the meaningful relationships, and the everyday ‘now’ (as it is more insightful to look back on me recording my life at present, rather than trying to recall it down the track).  And it is important to me that the viewer knows WHY something has been recorded in a layout – why a photograph or a memory is special or significant – not only that the layout looks attractive.

About Me: I’m Ali and I live in Canberra with my husband, two kids, dog and cat. When I'm not scrapping I'm hanging out with my family, drinking coffee, running or swimming.

My Scrapping Life: I have been scrapping for almost six years.  I'm not sure what I did with my time before I discovered scrapbooking six years ago, it's a big part of my everyday life, it's a rare day that I don't create something. Like many others I was introduced to the wonderful world of scrapping through a Creative Memories party. I also enjoy card making and stamping.

I  tend to create Layouts  featuring my family but I also like to record quirky things I see around me.

I am currently a member of the CIS sketch team

My scrapping style, favourite products and techniques

My style is constantly changing and evolving. I enjoy using fabric and found items on my layouts and I also have fun making many of the embellishments I use. Whilst I lust after new product as much as the next scrappy gal I love to mix product ranges and use a blend of old and new products together.

Techniques I often use are misting/masking, distressing and inking.

My favourite product  would have to be Alphas – I love them in all sizes and all colours – they can make or break your layout.

My Inspiration:

I find my inspiration in the world around me – ads, clothing designs and labels. I also enjoying being a member of online communities and keeping up-to-date with the various scrapping mags

About Me:  I am married with 2 teenagers, Samantha 16 and Trevor 18 (lots of fun). My days are filled working full time.As Head Chef.  I enjoy working with my team in a 7 day a week establishment.

My other interests are reading books and following the V8s supercards (I'm such a rev head).

My Scrapping Life: My passion  started out 4 yrs ago card making.  Friends and family loved the homemade cards I would send them for special occasions. Then a year later I progressed to layouts and there has been no stopping me since.

Any spare time for me is scrapping time, with my own scrap room and everything at my fingertips  makes it so easy to scrap and enjoyable to work in.

Your Scrapping Style, Favorite Products and Techniques:  My scrapping style is constantly changing with new ideas and inspiration.  I like shabby/vintage and use this style quite regularly (I love to distress). My favorite products are all prima (Prima is just yum). Webster pages, graphics 45, Basic grey and Kaisercraft... the list could go on

My Inspiration:  Lots of blog hopping.  Sketches and challenges give me inspiration also waking up in the middle of the night thinking “that could work”. I love experimenting with new products and trying different technique.

I love to come home from work, have a coffee, and see what’s happening in forum world and on the blog.

Dale Tiernan

About Me:   I'm mother to Damon (12) and Mark (9) and wife to my husband Paul. We live in Western Australia.

My Scrapping Life: I truly love scrapbooking. I started my first scrapbook in primary school in which I used to paste memorabilia. I still have it but unfortunately it is falling apart. I plan to incorporate it into an All About Me album in the next year or two. I started scrapbooking again in February 2003 after going to a Creative Memories home class. I basically taught myself for six months. Then I decided that I wanted to teach others as a job. I joined  Creative Memories and was a consultant for 3 1/2 years. I love creating layouts and I also make some cards too. I like to crop with others and attend one or two camps each year where I usually get around 40 pages done. I've also taught both of my boys to scrapbook and they each have their own album that they have created.

Your Scrapping Style, Favourite Products and Techniques: I enjoy trying different techniques  and since leaving CM have adapted my style quite a bit. I have always believed a layout should enhance the photos. I love to choose colours and papers to match. Paper is my favourite scrapping product. I love Kaisercraft, K&Co, Basic Grey and many more. I also have quite a decent collection of ribbons. Having 2 boys doesn't always lend itself to using ribbon but I manage to use it fairly often considering that.

My Inspiration: I draw inspiration from the photos themselves, from products that come to mind as I look at them. I've also had ideas from video clips, people's clothing, advertisements, magazines and websites. I'm also inspired to share my designs with others so that they may be tempted to pull out their own scrapbooking kit and create pages.

My Scrapbooking Philosophy:   I love to scrapbook. It is my favourite hobby but I don't just do it for fun. I believe in keeping a history of my family life for my husband and I to look at in the future. I get satisfaction from knowing that my grandchildren will know their family background and information and that will create in them a sense of belonging.
