Monday Mini "Be Extraordinary"

14 February 2022

Happy Monday everyone!

Today, let's talk about a fun and creative way to start your week - scrapbooking Monday Mini's!

If you're not familiar with the concept, a Monday mini is a small 6 x 6 scrapbook layout that captures a moment or memory:

It can be a memory from your previous week some older photos that you haven’t yet scrapped or a way to use up left over photos from a previous project.

It's a great way to document your life in a manageable and easily achievable way and to use up your leftover papers and embellishments, cardstock, chipboard or flowers. Any goes really!

One of the best things about scrapbooking Monday Mini's is that they don't have to be perfect. You can experiment with different techniques or just keep them very simple. The idea is to get some creative time in, have fun and let your creativity flow!

Each of my Monday mini layouts is like a little treasure chest of personal messages, each carefully crafted for one of my children or grandchildren, depending on the layout's theme and who it features.

These messages will serve as lasting reminders of just how unique and wonderful they are. They contain the essence of life's most important lessons – to be joyful, to follow their hearts, and always strive to do the right thing. These layouts are not just snapshots of moments but little snippets of love and wisdom, waiting to offer guidance and encouragement whenever they may need it. They are a tangible expression of the boundless love and support that surround them, reminding them to navigate life with purpose, integrity, and an ever-present sense of joy.

This weeks Monday Mini - 11 September 2023

In this week's Monday Mini, there's an absence of photographs, but instead, I dove into creating a mini with just a handful of embellishments. It's truly astonishing how a few leftover lace pieces, bits of cotton, and assorted trims can be transformed into something extraordinary.

The paper's background provides an elegant background that perfectly complements the quote I have used.  The paper is from an old Basic Grey Collectin. (I can't remember which collection). I'm sure it will come to me later.

There are a few focal points on this mini layout. One is the wooden heart shape painted with Cadence Paint in a delicate baby blue. I also drew some gold hearts inside the heart shape using a gold marker.

The second focal point is the burlap strip and bow with the word 'Extraordinary' and the third focal point is the cluster of various coloured twines and cord with a silver key threaded through some white ribbon.

Lastly, I used a strip of old Rub-ons along the bottom of the page. I have stacks in my stash!

The sentiment I chose on the spur of the moment:

May you go beyond the ordinary steps
and discover extraordinary results,
May you keep on trying to reach for your stars.
May you never forget how wonderful you are

It's a message of encouragement and empowerment, reminding us all that we have the potential to achieve extraordinary things. We must never give up on our dreams and keep working towards achieving them, no matter how challenging the journey may be.

This Monday Mini will be going into my Granddaughter Layla's album.
